Natalie Portman in Dior from Rare Vintage at the Oscars
I rarely post about celebrities because I rarely find their super polished looks that relevant to me, but I did sit up and take notice when Natalie Portman walked down the Oscars red carpet wearing a beautiful vintage dress from Dior. Turns out the dress was from Rare Vintage, a New York showroom which specializes in high fashion and couture vintage finds. What do you think about seeing vintage on the red carpet?

Ladylike in Leather

This is a leather dress that I purchased on Oasis for just around $100 US. Amazing, right? Even more amazing? I found it through work by asking a question on Buyosphere. Many of you know that I am working these days for the lauded Q and A platform, but let me tell you- it really works! I asked this question on the site not expecting much- hoping, yes, but not expecting to find THE dress and at a very affordable price point. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Eleven Objects Fall 2012

I spent most of Fashion Week working, but I was honored to attend a debut presentation by my friends from Eleven Objects - complete with live models, their signature collars dripping with jewels, texture and embellishments and, for the very first time, apparel! The designers pulled together a lush and dare I call it rococo collection?

I loved that the designers chose to have a string quartet at their first presentation. The whole event, set in a cool West Chelsea gallery, felt very intimate and special.

Congratulations, Christine and Lin Thi! Please put me on the pre-order list for:
the teal floral and gold peplum skirt
the black patent vest
the purple rosette collar and
the pearl harness....

RIP Whitney Houston: Exhale
She was a talented star with a voice that moved generations. It was clear she struggled with inner demons. "The biggest devil is me. I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy."
Rest in peace, Whitney Houston. We will miss your talent and we will miss you.

Bling Thing

Hope you are having a brilliant week so far. The Mr. and I subscribe to a huge magazine list, and we are constantly trying to catch up on this giant stack by our dining table. Here I am flipping through another magazine, wearing my favorite designer collaboration bling (Erickson Beamon x Baublebar), a bright red Giambattista Valli for Macy's dress and Raphael Young shoes.

Arizona Muse - Great Face, Even Greater Name
What amuses me most about Arizona Muse isn't her beautiful face- it's her beautiful name. She's literally a "muse." Photos via Fabricly.

The It Bag Sweater
Here are some photos that I shot with Carolyn on Wall Street. The intense blues of my "it bag" sweater by Ground Zero and the blue suede shoes by Raphael Young really pop against the nearly taupe grey of my Celine bag. Here's a better shot of the Celine Mini Luggage bag, which was a recent acquisition via Kirna Zabete (thanks Lauren!).

Review: Barely There
Last year, I had the opportunity to attend a press preview of a new intimate line by Barely There. The cast of the reality show about a dress shop called Jersey Couture was in attendance to walk us through a mini presentation of the latest products, and we got to try out some of the products at home.

Some of my new favorites from this brand include Barely There Shapewear - in particular, the ribbed tank that is super flattering for the tummy (no one wants to work out at the gym with a saggy pouch look up front) and the Bandini CustomFlex Fit bras which are super light, supportive and can be layered for different looks.

Barely There Bandini
Barely There is particularly great for everyday intimates - with breathable, light and supportive products. I'm not particularly comfortable with padded bras, so some of the padded products were not my thing, but there is something in this range of intimates for everyone.
Disclosure: product reviews based upon review of samples provided by the company. For more information, visit Barely There.
