Above: 3.1 Phillip Lim Applique Shirt and Dress - just gorgeous and special
You have scoured endless runway photos for New York Fashion Week and have filed away some choice looks for Spring 2013. What you can now do is wait... and wait for your favorite boutique or online outlet to buy the piece you have your heart set on. Perhaps it is a special look that won't even find its way into production. Or worse still, it is one of those pieces that goes viral, and sells out immediately. Unless you have a friend of a friend who works for the label of said sold out piece, you are just plain out of luck. Moda Operandi is a site for those who want to shop items directly off the runway- and pre-order them (plunking down a 50% deposit trunkshow style) for delivery at a later date. Here are some of my top picks on Moda Operandi's website that I think are worth the wait....
Above: Marc Jacobs Satin Gabardine Boatneck Dress (this captures the mod spirit of the runway show but is classic enough to be worn season after season)
Above: Opening Ceremony Austin Cutout Dress in flamingo (because that shade of pink needs to work its way into my closet)
