I have a few charity events coming up and while I will probably stick to a few dresses from my closet, I have my eye on borrowed bling from Rent the Runway. The website, which offers an impressive lending "library" of cocktail dresses from designers ranging from Frank Tell to Proenza Schouler, recently introduced a selection of accessories. For a fraction of their retail cost, you can wear a dazzling statement cuff or necklace for a few nights. Here are a few pieces I wouldn't mind borrowing for a few days to jazz up some old cocktail favorites, such as a vintage Yves Saint Laurent LBD...

Have you tried Rent the Runway yet? What do you think of the website? Would you ever borrow jewelry or accessories for a special occasion?

can't imagine borrowing...i'd have a hard time giving it back! but you have inspired me! am trying to get motivated to clean out the work space and start fresh!
Oh, the first necklace is just too pretty for words! I wouldn't want to give it back too:)

Oy if it was that first piece or a highly coveted YSL vintage piece - yes!
WOW! Stunning pieces!

wow what a great concept, but I'd have a hard time giving things back haha. great picks D, I esp love the art deco cuff and the starburst earrings. be sure to take photos of your outfit(s)!
Amazing necklaces...
I wish I could wear one of them in my life even just only once.
I haven't heard of this. But I am weird about borrowing or lending clothes and accessories. If I wear it, I want it to be mine, and if I allowed someone else to wear it, I don't think I'd want it again. It's not about germs, it's about feeling truly me. That being said, I don't think I'd want to give these necklaces back!
Oh wow the first necklace!
The pieces are truly gorgeous. I tried to rent a dress for my birthday but found the process very difficult and timely. It was hard to get my dress choice on the date I needed. I recommend ordering well in advance.
that art deco cuff is to die for.
i've never used rent the runway, and i can't imagine that i ever would, but it seems like a good idea for some people. let me know what you think...if you end up using them.
Love those last earrings. I don't think I'd ever go to something that needed me to rent from there.
I love all of these pieces! I especially love that Badgley Mischka cuff. I've never tried RenttheRunway, but it'd seem like such a tease to me, because I wouldn't be able to keep it!
I love that they added jewelry and accessories! I rented a dress for New Year's Eve... loved it!
Gorgeous!I especially love the first necklace. Personally, I would be way to nervous to borrow jewelry like this! I would be afraid of doing something to it! :)
oh my gosh that Sunken Treasure – good luck with the site!
these are all amazing! too bad i don't have a red carpet event to go to!
I lovelovelove the concept. it'd be amazing to have some fantastic baubles to wear to an event! (although i'm quite a klutz, I don't know if I'd trust myself with such pricey pieces)!
Oh i would so frightened of damaging or losing a piece, i'm such a klutz.
These pieces are incredible elegant but edgy

This isn't about the rentability of these wares, which is great btw. I just wanted to point out how much I LOVE the Sunken Treasure Necklace by Subversive and Liz Nugget Necklace by Gemma Redux! I'm not sure I'll ever get sick of the statement necklace and I totally love how gritty these are.

that first bib style necklace is just amazing!
I have not tried it in fear I won't want to give it back! I think it is a cool idea!
I love that Subversive necklace! I guess I'd be too scared of breaking the pieces but it'd be great to get something decent for a special occasion. I've just Google the Subversive website and the stuff is fabulous, I might have to rent a piece!
I would be too afraid I'd lost them!
I've not tried RTR yet...but after seeing that art deco cuff, I may just have to. Beautiful!
