Beauty Beat: Zelens Intensive Triple Action Eye Cream

Monday, April 5, 2010

A few months ago, I accidentally discovered one of my new favorite eye creams at the Space NK boutique in Soho. "Have the heard of this brand, Zelens?" a sales associate asked, holding the green jar of the Intensive Triple Action Eye Cream in her cupped hand delicately, as one would hold a tiny baby animal or a jeweled egg. Created by Dr. Lens, a plastic surgeon, specifically to target anti-aging concerns, the brand uses a mix of ingredients suitable for all skin types. I was won over by the texture and smell of the eye cream, which felt simultaneously rich and light when tested on the back of my hand.

After testing out the cream in my eye area over the last few months, I noticed a marked difference in the skin around my eyes: dark circles and puffiness have diminished, and fine lines have faded. I can't stop touching the skin under my eyes because it feels so light and soft (which has to stop, by the way-- it's probably not so good for me). It is definitely a splurge item due to cost, but well worth the investment, in my opinion, because a small jar can literally last you well over a year (I use a tiny pat morning and night). The cream has a gel-like texture, which is comforting and cool for someone like me, who gets less than a full night's rest during the week and tends to oversleep on the weekend. While I've tried richer creams in the past to target wrinkles in combination with other creams to tackle puffiness and dark circles, the Zelens blend of ingredients has been the best multi-purpose eye cream for me. The fragrance, a faint rose smell, is pleasant enough, too. I unqualifiedly recommend this eye cream for all, and would definitely repurchase this one.

The PR firm for Zelens was kind enough to send me a sample of their latest product, Advanced Luminscence Serum, and I've been testing it out over the past two weeks. After a few more weeks of trials, I will report back on this product. If it's anywhere near as good as their eye cream, I know I won't be disappointed. For more information on Zelens, check out http://www.zelens.com.

Disclosure: I purchased the product reviewed in this post.

Totally intrigued. Is it the best eye cream you've tried? I've been on the hunt for a good eye cream forever and would invest in a pricier one if it's really worth it!

Apparellel: Just to give you an idea about my skin type, I'm mostly dry, and range from normal to oily in the T-zone.. I think it would be great for dry skin... try to get a sample somewhere first... Not sure about the fragrance content, but it seems to be all natural...

Chic 'n Cheap Living: YES. Best eye cream to date. Will repurchase. Would recommend. Absolutely. But it depends on the texture and effect you're looking for. I don't like super rich creams because they are too much for me. This one sinks into the skin and it has a pleasant velvety texture.

Thanks for this, I've been looking for an eye cream that actually works forever. The price is a bit steep but if it really does the job, it's totally worth it.

This stuff sounds great b/c I definitely don't get enough sleep either. I love the packaging, too, superficial as that may be! lol
