NYFW Diaries: Preen F/W 2010

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Better start saving my pennies now because I loved every single piece in the Fall/Winter 2010 collection for London label Preen, especially the voluminous cocoon coats that were shown on the runway over signature bodycon pieces in lilac, purple and black using lace overlays to lend a little edge to floral pieces. This was definitely one of the highlights of my week. When a show is this beautiful, uplifting and heartbreakingly beautiful, you find yourself forgetting about your aching feet, impossible schedule and fatigue. This all melts away into that beautiful marriage of art and commerce better known as fashion. I couldn't bear to edit down my show pictures and video, so I'm sharing them all with you here... Enjoy...

Is it possible for eyes to have orgasms? because I swear mine just had multiple. That collection is amazing! I love the colour palette with the pretty lilac/lavender shades which transitioned darker into a deep, cool navy. And yes, please do save up for one of those cocoon coats, I can totally picture you in one!

Thanks for the video, it was almost like I was there! hahaha

Ahh I love this video! It was such a great way to see the collection summarized. It all looks so beautiful with its hard/soft contrasting lines and subdued palette. It reminds me of what I think of as a certain type of NY style, though this designer is English!
