Designer Profile: hui-hui

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Hamburg/Antwerp based label hui-hui sent over their Spring/Summer 2010 lookbook and I'm pleased to share some looks with you. Founded in 2002 as a labor of creative love by fashion designer Anne Schwatzler and sisters Johanna and Katharina Trudzinski, fashion designer and textile designer/artist, respectively, hui-hui has evolved into an internationally distributed brand with surprisingly wearable art-meets-fashion pieces in delicious textile combinations. The collection for S/S '10 demonstrates the label's strengths, drawing from an eclectic range of influences, including porcelain color palettes, Julian Schnabel, Chanel and Japanese fabric books. I've got my eye on those knit and printed pieces... P.S. Don't you just love the crafty and colorful way they put together their lookbook?

I love this label, so glad you featured it. You're right about their lookbook -- soo colorful! They made a lookbook a while back for their collection ice cream, or something like that, and it was sooo colorful and fun and different. I'll never forget it.
