Project Runway Recap

Friday, August 21, 2009

I now write reviews about reality TV, fashion-driven dramatic series such as Mad Men, "chick flicks" and other chick-friendly things over at Critiqulous. Check out my review and recap (spoilers ahead) on the Premiere Night of Project Runway!

Did you watch the premiere? What did you think???

I'm not as blown away this season as I have been in the past, but I'm glad that they're filming at my second alma mater! =D

I don't know...the reality model show afterwards made my eyes bleed.

Think I'm loving 'The Fashion Show' more, but I'll continue to watch to see how Louise Black does - Team Louise!

XOXO

I missed the first half of the show and only caught the actual runway show. I totally knew that guy who made the essentially sheer nightgown was staying (while Bec was adamant he was leaving). I actually thought the woman with the messed up ruching front dress was going home (which I didn't even realize it was messed up, I sort of liked the bold pattern). I wanted the red dress with the deep v-neck and low back to win and I thought one of the great elements of the dress was the bold red color even though the judges disagreed. There is some great talent on this season! I also saw the models show which was OK- I was wondering if it was a full hour, but glad it was not. I only wonder if Lifetime does as many reruns of their shows as Bravo does! Hope you have a great weekend, D! :)

Three entire hours of Project Runway was awesome. I'd missed the show so much since I first watched, so I was very happy. Right now, there are so many designers, I can't really get a good feel of who I essentially like best, but I do agree with who they sent home. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season will bring.

Crap, I'm still trying to find a download or streaming source for this (if you know any let me know), so I can't read any reviews right now... can't have me any spoilers! Have a lovely weekend and hope your dental pains have faded!

I didn't see it :(. I'll try to check On Demand.

I do not have cable. It is such a shame, as I would absolutely LOVE this show. Le sigh.

@InnyVinny @MidtownGirl We can still be friends, even if you didn't enjoy PR!

@Eden I'm sure they'll upload it to YouTube or at least the highlights! I think you'll enjoy PR All-Stars Challenge!

@Sheena: I'm surprised more people weren't excited about PR as I was. Glad I'm not the only one!!!

@Haute-Shopper: Thanks for your note of dental concern. Slowly getting better... I just had ANOTHER one yanked yesterday!

Is anyone else freaked out about how tightly wound Heidi's bun is? on the other hand, it's like an insta-facelift.

I'm glad it's back...off to read your review!

OMG I saw tears about 5 times and whats funny is that they were mostly men ,lmao I find it ok this season but lets see how it develops :P

Obviously, you write reviews about some of my favorite things. Off to check them out right now!

And to answer your question...Project Reality? I've never seen it before, so I can't state an opinion. I really need to buy all the seasons and have a week-long Project Reality marathon! :)

That tiny little bun on top of Heidi's head in that photo makes me laugh!

I'm not really feeling it yet, but I feel like it always takes me a little while to get into a new season.

of course i watched it but no one has my vote just yet. i really liked chris straub's mainly b/c i wasn't expecting to like it. but everyone else killed me with all that satin overload. blahhh! and the model shoe afterward is just a joke. what's the point?!

we'll see...as with any of these contestant shows, it starts slowly, and builds, and by the end, do we even remember who was the first to go?

Good morning!
Heidi has here in Germany also her show called "Germany´s next topmodel"... the last season was disappointing. A brief summary was always: Heidi did it in her career better, girls! ;)

Have a beautiful weekend!

modediktat said...

Mhmmm, Heidi.... She isn't even very popular in Germany... Most of the time she is getting on my nerves and I have to switch the program...
I was keen on watching a show like Project Runway, but we don't get it here, bad, bad.
Gorgeous, I hope you're feeling much better again and that you can enjoy the weekend with the Mr.
I've passed you a small award and I hope you like it.
Wishing you a relaxing and pleasant weekend, dear!

I tried to post this on Critiqulous but I couldn't, so here it is:

This is great, D! I had to stop when I got to the premiere of the new season - unfortunately we get everything later in the UK and I'm planning to watch. But I couldn't help but read about the All-Star Challenge. I was just watching a re-run of season 2 today and Santino made me do a full-body cringe all over again, so I was glad to read he got booted early! It's nice that Daniel won - good guys prevail!
