Fall 2009 lookbook images via designer's website
New York designer Rachel Antonoff will be presenting her third womenswear collection with a presentation at a downtown theater next week, which leads me to believe that her clothing will be shown in an unconventional and dramatic way (pun intended). Antonoff, who is also a fashion writer, and once one-half of the duo behind defunct cult label, Mooka Kinney, imbues her clothing with a sweetly vintage, girlie vibe, without sacrificing downtown cool.
One explanation for the clothing's appeal might be her choice of "it" girl models: for her debut, Scarlett Johansson modeled Spring 2009 vintage-inspired print dresses along with Alia Shawkat. For Fall 2009's bow-tastic looks, Antonoff shot an adorable lookbook starring Alia Shawkat, Julia Frakes and Sarah Sophie Flicker. Call me a sucker for bows, but I'm loving the refined silhouette and color palette of her latest collection, including a stunning trompe l'oeil bow dress and a tuxedo inspired catsuit. Meow!
