It's been some time since my last proper fashion update. I'm just now catching up on research and will be bringing you more looks from new emerging and independent designers, both with and without interviews (just to mix up the format a little)...
Here's a quick peek at some Fall 2009 intergalatic dresses, separates and accessories from Rhode Island School of Design grads Sarah Welsh and Madeline Davy, for their Brooklyn-based label, Octopi. I've been feeling metallic bling these days, and these matte metallic, paneled leggings (last look) and crazy awesome silver foil dress (third look) match my mood nicely. Although the designers have been creating one of a kind items under the label since 2003, they only recently launched proper collections. I first discovered Octopi via select pieces of their Spring 2009 items through Light Vision Store, including this amazing tubular necklace. Price points are reasonable, and I could see these pieces working in most women's wardrobes. I especially love the gently folded silhouette of these pieces. What do you think?
