all images courtesy of Dapper Kid This week's blogger spotlight shines brightly on Dapper Kid, whose UK-based blog is a mix of fashion, photography and creative writing. I fell in love with his sincere, inquisitive and unabashedly romantic writing style; if you aren't already familiar with his blog, I am sure you will enjoy his writing style, too. Dapper Kid just launched an amazing "Around the World" journal project, in which a number of international bloggers will fill the pages of a journal and share their own musings/writings/images as the journal changes hands. I signed up to participate, and am nervous and excited about what to do with two pages of my own... Sound intriguing? Check out this week's Behind the Blog to learn more about this extraordinary young gentleman...
Five Questions for My Favorite Bloggers
Who are you?
dapper kid. No, seriously...it says so on my birth certificate and all *ahem*.
I suppose I am a young gentleman just trying to make his way in the world, and hopefully make it a happier place along that journey. Actually on that note, please do take the time to smile at a stranger today, it really does make a difference.
Where are you?
In a cosy little bedroom on the third floor of an Edwardian terraced house in South London. As I type this I am bathed in the soft and warm glow of candlelight, which is by far my favourite type of light besides the joyous sunshine of day. Out of my open window I can hear the faintest hum of cars and the wind whistling its beautiful night time tune.
In terms of where I am in my life...I am still discovering who I am. And even though I do not expect to truly find my answer any time soon, I think the most important thing is to be happy with being yourself, and thankfully that I am.
What is the concept behind your blog?
Writing a blog for me is a form of self expression. It allows me to share my thoughts, ideas, fancies, and essentially myself, to anyone who may happen to be interested. I use it in order to express my love of fashion, primarily menswear, alongside thoughts with regards to my own outfits. Whether it be a collection I appreciate, an editorial I enjoy, or simply creative fashion designers whose art I admire, I try to share it all.
I also use it to share my photographs, which although is not a skill I am currently as proficient in as I would like, still allows me to share my ideas of beauty. I truly do think beauty can be found everywhere, provided we just take the time to really look.
In general terms, I often feel a blog is like a garden of the mind. I try to keep it beautiful and positive - why allow it to ruin with the weeds of negativity?

When you are not blogging, what else do you enjoy doing?
I am a keen writer, of both short stories and poetry. I also love photography, whether that be shooting in film (mainly 35mm - Velvia 50 please!) or digital. I happen to be quite the film fan also, especially classic Hollywood films of the late '50s, and the works of Johnny Depp, Tim Burton and George A. Romero.
I love cooking, and can often be found either in the kitchen, attempting (by which I mean they may not always go as planned!) to craft a culinary treat, or visiting local food shops and markets. I seldom cook singularly for myself as I love getting my family together, especially in Summer, for luncheons in the garden. Indeed I truly do value any time I am able to spend with family and friends, for they make life what it is!
More importantly...what are you wearing? :)
Currently? Well I am soon about to sleep, however I feel saying a pair of Calvins may not be quite the appropriate answer. So earlier today...I was wearing a simple white shirt (with the collar buttoned, but no tie), fine striped white and blue cotton blazer with red pocket square, navy flat fronted trousers with a red patent belt, and some navy espadrilles. Nothing overly exciting, but I shall be sure to break out the yellow windbreaker tomorrow!

Great Q&A! Love DK! I'm part of that Around the World thing (apparantly first non-UK person to get it... argh!) and I still have no clue what to put in it. I'll probably be completely uncreative and end up putting in pictures of shoes or something.
