A sad week in celebrity news. First, news of Farrah Fawcett's death, then Michael Jackson.
May they rest in peace.
Such shocking news, but ever a gentle reminder of how lucky we are, to be alive, to have loved ones in our lives. I called my sister after news broke of Michael's death, and we reminisced about how entertwined our memories of childhood were with his early solo pop albums. I remember seeing posters for Thriller and Bad in the record store down the block. She remembers a lady doing a really awful moonwalk down the street carrying a Michael Jackson lunchbox.
We will all remember that single glove.
I'm inspired to create my life's version of Off the Wall, a defining moment in music history. If there was ever a time to do those things I promised to do; to say those things I promised to say, this is IT. No more excuses. Life is too short for ordinary things.
Off to Washington, DC for the weekend with the Mr. so just a single link from the talented illustrator Danny Roberts, who just released his tribute drawing of the King of Pop (shown above). I was in the middle of compiling a Twitter-view for this week, but I have decided to postpone that as well until the following week.
Until Monday... be well.

I know... I heard it around 1am while cutting footage. So much talent and sweetness. RIP.
So so sad...
Bon voyage! Hope you have a fab weekend!
xx
SAFE travels my dear.
XOXO
Definitely a sad, sad day yesterday.. this whole week, in fact, hasn't been great with everything that's gone on. I agree, it's a reminder that life's too short to hold back on things. Hope you have a fab time in D.C.!

Cath and I did the same. We remember being five and watching Thriller on VHS over and over and over.
Hope you have a great time in D.C.
have fun in dc i am at a loss.
I was styling clients for MJ's tribute concert in NYC on 9/10/01 and I had the chance to see him perform along with his brothers up close and personal and it was amazing... from his costumes, his voice to his legendary dance moves he was such an entertainer... his style really played a big part in fashion for me and he will be missed!
Definitely a great loss. So sudden too. Have a wonderful time in DC.

He will be sorely missed - such a tragic loss. Hope you're having a wonderful time in Washington dear :)
His death also brings me back lots of childhood memories, I had a Michael Jackson phase as a kid...it's so sad, particularly because of late he'd been relegated to being the fruitcake du jour, so much so that his talent was overshadowed :(
hope you have a fab trip to dc!
he was such a talent, so sad
very odd feeling.
xx-LJ from SOS!
I hope you had a great time in DC! I want to hear about what you thought/places you checked out! And I'm still a little sad about MJ, too.
So sad.
