Crushing Hard on Spock and the New Star Trek Movie

above: Zachary Quinto as Spock in Star Trek

I'm crushing hard on Spock. And I'm not ashamed to admit it.

This weekend, I thought I was doing the Mr. a favor by accompanying him to a showing of the new Star Trek movie directed by J.J. Abrams (of Lost fame). After all, I'm no "Trekkie."

But as I stumbled out of the theater in a lovely summer blockbuster daze, I found myself thinking: "Wow. Spock is hot!"

This is an introverted yet undeniably sexy Spock, a half-human, half-Vulcan character played by Zachary Quinto, who struggles to keep a lid on his human emotional side, while not quite wholly embracing his rational Vulcan self.

His character is one of the most complex types presented in the movie, and that, aside from his fashion-forward, 60s mod inspired cut, impossibly arched brows, signature pointy ears and male-model slender frame, makes him a nouveau hot poster-boy for Generation Google.

Has anyone else seen the movie? Any diehard Trekkies out there want to pitch in? I know I'm not alone in the new Spock fanclub!

I watched a few episodes of Heroes when it first aired and though Quinto was a little funny looking but DAYUMMMM he got HOT. I saw a clip of him on SNL this past weekend and was like.. yeah, I'd totally do him. Like seriously do him.

Also, I never thought I'd say this but am very excited to see a STAR TREK MOVIE! hehe.

Gurl I am so down with the Spock, and he is into the chocolate too! So you know I am totally riding on the Spock train! Plus Zachary Quinto is awesome in Heroes too. Zachary and his flawed yet sexy characters!

Haha, I haven't seen the movie yet, but hubby (a trekkie, eek!) has been SO excited about this movie, has been bringing it up for over a year now! I can't imagine Spock being hot, but Zachary Quinto? Yes! :) Despite being 'evil' Sylar in the series 'Heroes', he was quite hot ;)

When I did watch "Heroes," Sylar (Quinto's character) was the reason because he was evil, knew he was evil and didn't give a damn. Sadly though, the show's annoying redundancy and taking forever to get nowhere killed my buzz for the show.

That being said, he was awesome as Spock and I think no one else could've pulled it off.

why everybody is mad for star trek?? I hate it!! I'm in the "star wars" bf loves dr.spock too, nobody is better than luke skywalker ;))))

I already had a crush on him from heroes, so it's good to just get to see him doing something else :)))

I haven't seen Star Trek...yet, but it's on my must watch list!

I like him as Sylar in Heroes, but I honestly don't know if I can go see a Star Trek movie. Thankfully hubby is not a fan either. My reason for being a bit of an anti-Trek fan is I used to know a creepy guy who was a complete fan. He had the outfits (two of them actually... made by his mom - enough said), went to the conventions and spoke the lingo. I think that has scarred me for life.

I was dragged to Star Trek and ended up loving it. Yes Spock was hot! As soon as we got home I looked up Quinto on imdb, 6'1, 32 and looks great in a tank top! I never watched Heroes or anything so he's new to me. What is it about mysterious quiet men that are so sexy on screen? Can't wait to see Star trek again!!

sorry, I meant to say 32 this year, lol he is still 31. :-)

Haha! I knew I wasn't alone in my Spock infatuation!

Jozee: Can't wait to hear about what you think when you finally see the movie. I haven't actually seen an episode of Heroes, yet.

thefatandskinnyonfashion: LOL. You are too much! The Spock train!

Brigadeiro: I wouldn't say my husband is a Trekkie per se, but he's so into sci-fi stuff. The whole time we were watching trailers, I kept turning to him and laughing because he was so fixated on those movies targeted to sci-fi geeks.

Jacob: I read your review of Star Trek on the blog. Very good. As I said, I'm not a Trekkie and my knowledge of the series does not reach too far back, but I'm fairly certain that most people are loving this new take on the series.

Carlotta: Hee hee. You should see it anyway! I think you'd be pleasantly surprised.

Wicked Halo: I need to see Heroes!

Haute-Shopper: I know that's the stereotype of the Trekkie... but this movie is hot. And the opposite of geeky, I am telling you!

Eyeliah: The movie sets him up as the hero early on when they show him being taunted by bullies. I mean, who hasn't been teased by bullies in their childhood? Unless they were bullies themselves. He's definitely the most likeable character. Hot hot.

I will..but my heart belongs to luke!!!

unfortunately heroes has been stuck in a rut, the plots are becoming know the kind of show, where people are dying and coming back to life all the time? this is it, but hey it's the price to pay to get a regular fix of zach :DDDD

I originally had no desire to see this but now I really want to. A boy I went to college with looks just like Quinto. It was freaky to say the least. I wonder if people think he's him now that more people know about the cuteness of Quinto.

Wicked Halo said...

Carlotta, read this, apparently Star Trek is just like Star Wars anyway, so no biggie :)

Dream Sequins said...

Ladies: Is it getting hot in here, or is it just me? ;)

Carlotta: Sppppock!

Wicked Halo: Oooh thanks for the link!

Modelizer: You've got to see it. We're all abuzz. :)

Oh he's hot alright. The performance is genius, that's what makes it, aside from Quinto's Italian genes.
